Global Materials Shortage Affecting Norris Public
Power District
The District depends on a variety of materials to provide, SAFE, RELIABLE and LOW-COST electricity to customers. Recent material shortages across the globe are impacting supply chains that provide necessary materials for construction, maintenance and upgrades. Current demand for materials is dramatically exceeding the available supply, which is putting a strain on materials that the District and other utilities use daily. At this time, it is unclear how long the current material shortages will last.
Products that contain polyvinyl chloride (PVC) electrical conduit, and certain metals like those contained in meter sockets are becoming scarce. The District is experiencing challenges in acquiring transformers that are an essential piece of equipment to deliver electricity to irrigation
services, businesses and homes.
Norris has increased its material inventory and ordered in advance to minimize delays. However, even with the District’s effort to stay ahead, it may not be enough. The longer the shortages and delays continue, the harder it becomes to procure material in a timely manner. This requires planning further into the future than normal.
Please notify the District as soon as possible about new services or upgrades to existing services to allow for planning and procurement of materials.

The reentry interval is the time required by federal law between application of pesticides to crops and the entrance of workers into those crops without protective clothing. Reentry intervals serve to protect workers from possible pesticide poisoning.
  Load management
allows irrigation cus-
tomers to choose their
electric rate by selecting
the level of control that
suits their needs. Load
management options
range from no control
to a few days of control
to anytime interruptible.
Demand and energy charges decrease as the amount of load management increases.
