Norris Welcomes New Linemen
Drew Hubka – Beatrice
Drew Hubka joined Norris Public Power District on February 15, 2021 as an Apprentice Lineman in the District’s Service Center located in Beatrice.
Drew is originally from Beatrice and is the son of Chris and Lesli Lenners and Andy and Debbie Hubka. Drew graduated from Northeast Community College, in Norfolk, in 2015 with an Applied Science Degree in Utility Line Technology. In 2014, Drew completed his internship at Norris. Prior to accepting his position at Norris, Drew was employed for five years by the City of Holdrege as a lineman.
Drew’s wife, Mallory, is currently teaching 3rd grade at Holdrege Public Schools. After completing the school year in May, Mallory will relocate to Gage County, where the Hubkas will
call home. Mallory has been hired by Beatrice Public Schools and will begin teaching third grade at Stoddard Elementary School in August.
Drew’s hobbies are hunting, golfing, training hunting dogs and spending time with his family.

  Lucas Trauernicht – Hebron
Lucas began working at Norris on February 15, 2021 as an Apprentice Lineman in the District’s Service Center located in Hebron.
Lucas is the son of Ross and Mary Trauernicht of Pickrell. He graduated from Northeast Community College, in Norfolk, in 2018. Prior to graduating with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Utility Line Technology, Lucas completed his internship at Norris in the District’s Service Center located in Centerville in
2017. Since 2018, Lucas worked as a lineman for the City of Superior.
Lucas and his fiancée, Samantha Oakes, live in Hebron. Samantha is a Special Educator at Fairbury Public Schools. Lucas and Samantha will be married in October 2021.
In Lucas’ spare time, he enjoys camping, boating and spending time with family. Lucas is a Pickrell Picnic volunteer, assisting with a wide range of activities and duties.

working at Norris while completing my in- ternship. Returning to work for Nor- ris has been my intention since graduating with a Utility Line De- gree. Working for a rural utility provides a demanding and challenging
