chum joined the Norris
team as an Engineering
Systems Analyst on Feb-
ruary 14, 2022. In his role,
he is responsible for var-
ious technical matters, including protective de-
vice coordination, system analysis, system model-
ing, construction work planning, distributed generation, substation design, infrared inspections, radio frequency interference investiga- tions and power quality analysis.
Jared is a familiar face at Norris. He worked at the District, in 2000, to com- plete his engineering in- ternship. He graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engi- neering Degree. Jared pre- viously worked at Olsson, in Lincoln, as a Controls
Engineer. He maintains a Nebras- ka Professional Engineers License in Nebraska.
Jared's wife is Dr. Julie Jochum. Their children are Micah (nine),
Madison (six), Isaac (four) and Evelyn (seven months). Julie specializes in Optometry and works at the Optical Gallery in Beatrice. Jared and his family currently reside in Lincoln. However, they hope to move to Gage County soon to be close to their families and places of employment. Jared’s parents are Mike and Nancy Jochum of Beatrice.
In his spare time, Jared enjoys shooting sports and playing board games with his children. He is also a Hunter Education Instructor.
