DEDICATED YEARS OF SERVICE
EMPLOYEE SERVICE
 ANNIVERSARIES
On December 6, 1993, Jerry began working at Norris Public Power District as a Lineman working out of the District’s Area II office in Roca. Prior to working at Norris, Jerry worked as an Apprentice Lineman for Loup Valleys Rural Public Power District in Ord and as a Lineman for the City of Wahoo.
In 1995, Jerry was promoted to the position of Construction Foreman. After serving as a Foreman for ten years, in 2005, Jerry was promoted to the position of Maintenance Supervisor. In 2017, Jerry was promoted to his current position of Area Supervisor.
Jerry’s wife, Deb works for the University of Nebraska, Lincoln as the Assistant Director of Scholarships. Jerry and Deb have two children. Their son, Evan is currently attending the School of Dentistry at Creighton University in Omaha and their daughter, Taylor is attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney studying biology.
Jerry’s hobbies include golfing, fishing, following the Cornhuskers, the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team and spending time with his family and friends.
“Over the last twenty-five years, I really appreciate all the different opportunities that I have experienced working at Norris. It has been very rewarding from my time spent working on storm jobs as a lineman to my current position. I have been fortunate to help mold the next generation of linemen by passing down the experience that I gained from predecessor linemen who I was fortunate to work with.”
Kevin Frerichs received his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Utility Line from Metropolitan Community College in Omaha and completed his internship at Norris Public Power District in 2002. In 2003, he began working as a Temporary Helper for the District. Kevin was hired full-time on December 22, 2003, as a Lineman in Beatrice. In 2015, Kevin began working on the Right-of-Way crew.
When Kevin is not working at Norris, he farms with his family near Holmesville. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting and spending time with family and friends.
“As a Right-of-Way Operator, I clear or trim trees near power lines that, during storms, may fall across power lines causing outages. By maintaining proper clearances, my job helps reduce outage time for customers, damage to electrical equipment and safety issues. To serve the customers of the District by providing them reliable service makes what I do rewarding.”
Congratulations
Jerry, Kevin and Tyler
on reaching significant milestones in your service to Norris Public Power District.
Anna (9 months).
In Tyler’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, hunting, archery, being outdoors and is a huge fan of the K-State Wildcats.
“I enjoy everything about my job – from the people I work with to learning the ropes from the men who have been doing it 30 plus years. There is never one day that is the same. Everyday, there is a new challenge and you have to be ready to step up and take on that challenge.”
