Considering A Lineman Career?
 Norris Public Power District offers a $1,500 Utility Line – Electric Lineman Scholarship for a student who has been accepted into the Utility Line Program at Northeast Community College in Norfolk or Metropolitan Community College in Omaha. Utility line class sizes are limited. Norris encourages those interested in enrolling to contact schools as early as possible.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Graduated high school within the past two years
• High school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Rank in the upper 50% of their graduating class
• Parents or step-parents must be customers of Norris Public Power District
Utility line work is a specialized field. It is challenging, but rewarding work. When duty calls, a lineman must be ready to work in demand- ing conditions and often for many hours in every type of weather imaginable to repair or rebuild elec- tric facilities to restore power.
Norris is proud to assist a future utility lineman to fulfill their ambition to have a career in the electric utility industry. By assisting a future utility lineman, Norris helps assure that electric utilities will continue to have a
solid, capable work force into the future.
