Bill Wiechert
began serving
as a Director on
the Operation
Round Up Board
in January 2021.
The Operation
Round Up Board
of Directors meet
quarterly to eval-
uate applications
and determine
how best to dis-
tribute the do-
nations in the
Goodwill Fund.
Each county in
service territory has a volunteer who serves on the board to assure equal
representation across Norris’ system. Directors are selected based upon their leadership skills and involvement in their community.
Bill was raised on a dairy farm near Emerald, and graduated from University High School in Lincoln. Bill joined the Nebraska Air National Guard in September 1966. He served with the Nebraska Air National Guard and retired after more than 40 years of service in 2007. During his military career, he was deployed to several foreign countries with the RF-4C and KC-135R aircraft.
Bill and his wife, Rose, have two adult sons, one daughter-in-law and two
grandchildren. Rose worked as an Executive Secretary for Lincoln Public Schools until her retirement.
“Since I retired from the Nebraska Air National Guard, I have more time to volunteer and make a difference in my community. I’m happy to volunteer to assist with community programs like Operation Round Up, which has enormous potential for helping support community projects,” said Bill.
In his spare time, Bill enjoys helping area farmers, especially during harvest season. Bill serves as an officer with the Pleasant Dale American Legion Post 354.
