Youth Energy Leadership Camp
The Nebraska Rural Electric Association (NREA) Youth Energy Leadership Camp (YELC) was held July 9 – 13, 2018 at the Nebraska State 4-H Camp located within the Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands near Halsey. Norris Public Power District participates in the camp by sponsoring students and providing counselors. Youth leadership programs empower Nebraska students to develop the leadership talents and become stronger leaders in the communities in which they live.
Forty-two high school aged students from twenty-two electric systems attended camp along with eight counselors and six junior counselors. Jeff Juranek, Foreman, served as a counselor and attended camp with Anna Hughes, Colten
