Outage Notification Service Outage Notification Service Norris Public Power District realizes that during major outage events, customers may have a difficult time getting outage information. Recognizing this, the District currently uses the Norris District website, Facebook, Twitter, local radio stations and newspapers to inform customers on the status of outages and restoration efforts. In an effort to further our ability to communicate with our customers, the District recently upgraded our Outage Management System software which now has the capability to notify customers by email or text message with outage information. In the future, the District may use this feature for planned outages or for large scale outage events to keep customers abreast of restoration efforts and let them know specific information that pertains to their particular outage. Customers will only receive messages from the District that relate to their accounts that are affected by the outage.
